UK Youth and Julia and Hans Rausing are working in partnership to offer funding to youth organisations seeking to be better equipped to respond to and support young people’s mental health in their communities.

Who can apply?

To be eligible to apply your organisation must:

  • Be based and operate in the UK, and have been operational for at least two years.
  • Have an annual income of less than £500,000 showing in your last annual accounts.
  • Be a charitable or not for profit organisation and can provide a governing document stating this.
  • Have as its primary purpose the provision of services benefitting children/young people.
  • At least 70% of your organisation’s beneficiaries must be aged 8 – 25 years.
  • Submit or have available online at least one year’s full accounts.
  • Comply with the Equality Act 2010, the General Data Protection Regulation 2018 and Data Protection Act 2018, Public Services (Social Value) Act 2012 and all other relevant statutory or regulatory requirements.
  • If you receive a UK Youth grant you will be able to commit to engaging and attending core activities of the fund and complete all online reporting requirements.
What are the funder priorities?

Applications that meet the eligibility criteria and have submitted all requested information, will
be assessed against the following:

  • Mental Health Need: You have clearly identified and articulated a pressing mental health need among your youth workers and the young people in your community.
  • Engagement: Your organisation is directly engaging with at least one of the focus groups who make up a significant proportion of the young people you work with.
  • Legacy and partnership: Your organisation has made a commitment to building partnerships and sharing your learnings over the course of the programme with other organisations and communities.
  • Value for money: Your organisation demonstrates good value for money in its provision of services for young people.
  • Experience & understanding: Your organisation has experience in providing similar programme or activity with beneficial results.
How much can organisations apply for?

Unrestricted grants of £15,000 – £50,000 per year for up to 3 years.

Is there a deadline?

The deadline for completing and submitting your application is midnight Sunday 20 March 2022.
