Overcoming the barriers to participation – what stops people taking part in nature-based activities?
On Wednesday 27 April, Reading Green Wellbeing Network (RGWN) hosted an event at MERL to share answers to this question and work out how to overcome barriers to participation in Reading.
RGWN is a network of local community gardens, horticultural therapy groups and nature-based activity providers who offer health interventions to improve people’s health and wellbeing in and around Reading (read more on their Facebook page). RGWN is the lead for nature and environment in the Wild Being project, which was awarded funding from the Thriving Communities Fund to help Reading communities recover from Covid-19 through the power of social prescribing.
