Anyone who has seen Channel 4’s Old People’s Home for 4 Year Olds or Be More Us from the Campaign to End Loneliness cannot help but be moved by the almost magical impact of intergenerational schemes.

Reading’s Loneliness and Social Isolation steering group is keen to hear from any older people’s services, local care homes and voluntary and community groups that may already be delivering such a scheme – or are interested in doing so. Members of the steering group would like to gain more insight into what’s worked well, and perhaps not so well, and whether there are opportunities for older and younger Reading residents to benefit from new initiatives.

If you are already involved in some kind of intergenerational work and would like to share your experiences at the next steering group on 19 March 2019 between 3pm and 5pm, or you’d like to explore ways to get your idea off the ground, please get in touch with Rhiannon Stocking-Williams at RVA’s Ready Friends project by emailing or phoning 0118 9372273.
