Understanding Anxiety for Befrienders and Support Volunteers in Times of COVID -19 | Monday 11 May at 11am
Join us to look into anxiety manifestations and symptoms in those we support, and what to listen out for in conversations that might let us know that a person is struggling. There will be an opportunity to learn some coping strategies to teach the people you support and their families. We will talk about Wellbeing and how to promote a healthy lifestyle in times of quarantine and confinement. There will be time for Q&A and group discussions.
Self Care for Those in Helping Roles | Monday 18 May at 11am
Join us to learn about self compassion and how self-care practices lead to resilience so that we can be at our best to support others at their worst times. We will look into stress and stressors, and burnout and its implications. We will learn how to manage stress in different ways and what a healthy mind platter looks like. There will be time to practice some mindfulness based stress reduction exercises, Q&A and group discussions.
