Food in vulnerable communities – the role of community groups during the Covid crisis

Primary interest
Voluntary sector

The Voluntary and Community Sector Emergencies Partnership (VCSEP) is a grouping of national and local organisations working together to help coordinate the response of the voluntary and community sector to the Covid crisis. (RVA is the Thames Valley liaison lead for the VCSEP – read more here).

The VCSEP has commissioned research into the role of the sector in food distribution and accessibility at a local level since the start of the Covid crisis. One of the aspects of the research is to look at the role of local community groups and faith groups.

They are currently running a survey, which gives the opportunity to discuss:
  • your role in the local food agenda
  • the challenges you have encountered
  • the balance between long-term issues and the impact of Covid-19
  • how to ensure that the achievements of local groups can be retained and built upon in the future.
The survey is open until the end of Friday 18 June – please complete and share. Click here to take the survey.
