Funding of £30,000 is available from RBC for developing and supporting a Community Health Champions Network
Activity will need to start by 14 April 2022 and be completed by 31 July 2022. The key aims of the funding are to:
- Set up a support network for Community Health Champions that are hosted by the VCS, organising regular meetings and mentoring/support sessions.
- Facilitate champions to access the Public Health ‘champion training programme’, supporting champions to access virtual training (digital skills/devices) or face to face training (supporting transport to venues) as part of their champion role.
- Organise information evenings with health professionals to disseminate accurate and up to date information related to vaccines to champions, community leaders and the wider community (to be included – the cost of room hire, refreshment and printed resources).
- Develop a communication plan to provide regular updates on champion’s activities.
