Citizens Advice Reading looking for a charity to share their office

Are you a charity looking for office space in central Reading? This may be of interest to you.

Citizens Advice Reading (CAR) proposes to offer between one-third and one-half of its main office area at Unit 33, Minster Street, for the shared use of another Registered Charity looking for a central Reading location. Access to the other parts of the building would similarly be shared. CAR estimates that the total premises fully inclusive cost in 2021/22 is likely to be just over £60,000 p.a., equating to £14.66 per usable square foot. The cost to the new tenant would be a share of CAR’s costs in proportion to the area occupied.

To minimise costs to both parties, the sharing option strongly preferred by Citizens Advice Reading is to use the main office on an open-plan basis – perhaps with space being delineated with free-standing room dividers. There is also some discrete office space which could also be made available if helpful. Other sharing options can also be considered (with a new tenant charity paying all of any extra costs involved).

The period of this office share would be until the expiry of the current lease in June 2026.

Registered Charities interested in taking advantage of this opportunity to co-share with Citizens Advice Reading should contact Phil Cawthorn, phil.cawthorn@citizensadvicereading.org, who will arrange for them to have an accompanied tour of the building.
