Bookings are now open for the next Wellbeing Forum for the Voluntary and Community Sector. The Forum is on Thursday 12 December 2019 in the conference room at RISC. Come along from 9:30am for refreshments and networking in time for a prompt start at 10:00am. We aim to finish at 12.45pm. The programme will include:
“Berkshire – a good place to work”
A presentation by David Munday, Reading’s Consultant in Public Health, on “Berkshire – a good place to work”, the Director of Public Health’s annual report for 2019. The annual report focuses on the mental wellbeing and musculoskeletal (MSK) health of the workforce. This will be followed by discussions about how we can best support ourselves and our colleagues when we are at work.
Voluntary sector voice workshop
A short workshop on how we can ensure that the voluntary sector has an effective voice in discussions at partnership boards, working groups and forums. For example, the Integrated Care Partnership (ICP) has eleven partnership boards covering Berkshire West. We are seeking clarification of the terms of reference and membership of these boards in order to agree if and how the voluntary sector can be involved in discussions e.g. through membership, sub-groups, presenting occasional reports etc. Another example is Reading’s Health and Wellbeing Board – Reading Voluntary Action is a member of the Board on behalf of the sector, and there are a number of working groups that report into updates on the Health and Wellbeing Strategy. Are we making the most of our voice within the working groups?
