To help autistic adults and parents and carers of autistic children and young people understand their entitlement to benefits and how to make an application while the coronavirus outbreak continues, Autism Berkshire is moving its free benefits advice workshops online.
The Understanding Your Benefits Rights workshops will cover the same topics as the face-to-face sessions that normally take place at our office in Reading. The first two workshops, which will both run from 10am to 1pm, are as follows:
Monday 15 June 2020
For parents and carers of autistic children aged up to 15, looking at applying for Disability Living Allowance (DLA).
Monday 29 June 2020
For autistic young people and adults aged 16+, and their parents and carers, looking at applying for Personal Independence Payment (PIP), Employment & Support Allowance (ESA) and Universal Credit.
- More details of the workshops and how to register for free places at these workshops are available at https://www.autismberkshire.org.uk/benefits-service/
- Our advisers will provide details of how to join the workshops online.
