Use your meal planning skills to make a difference to older people
Catering volunteer needed for Reading Borough Council (RBC) in RG2
The South Reading Over 50s social club meets every Wednesday at the Whitley Wood Community Centre. We are looking for a volunteer who enjoys cooking and planning meals to help in the kitchen and/or with the weekly shopping.
The club provides lunch for approximately 35 people every week so we like to keep things simple- there are no 3 course dinners! We offer cold buffets or order hot food from a local charity group. All the volunteers are happy to muck in and help with the washing-up and serving so you won’t be on your own.
Ideally, we would love to hear from anyone who would also be happy to complete a one day food safety training course, which we will fund.
If you’d like to be part of a friendly and lively volunteer team, making a big difference to lives of older people in Whitley, then please get in touch for a chat- perhaps this is just the role for you.
