Have a sense of fun? Help young people explore new experiences

Leading group activities volunteers needed for Berkshire Scouts

We are looking for adults who can help with Explorers, our youth section for 14 – 18 year olds.  These young people, boys and girls from all faiths, backgrounds and abilities, are eager to try new activities and we need adults to help us provide these opportunities. No two weeks are the same as the young people do different things each week to earn their badges and awards. You do not need any specific skills or qualifications, just enthusiasm, teamwork and a love of fun.

Some of our activities are:

  • rock climbing
  • doing a community service project
  • taking the young people on a hike to test their navigation skills

We can offer you

  • a free DBS check
  • an excellent and externally recognised training programme
  • a chance to improve your CV

We have three Explorer sections in Reading:

  • Raccoon ESU                                   Wednesday 7.30pm to 9pm               Kensington Recreation Park, RG30 2SQ
  • Penguins ESU                                  Thursdays 8pm to 9.30pm                Jefferson Close, Kiln Road, Emmer Green, RG4 8US
  • Trident ESU Sea Scouts                 Fridays 7.15-9.15pm                           Parkside Road, RG30 2DD

If you could help with one of these groups we would love to hear from you.
