We are looking for people who will happily give a few hours of their free time to help the homeless and those struggling financially in Reading.
Sadaka operates a weekly food kitchen at Fairview Community Centre, RG1 7HL, where we provide
- free freshly cooked lunches
- basic items of clothing,
- food bags
We work alongside local organisations (eg. FAITH Readi-foods’ CommuniCare, etc) and through friendly chats connect our users with the support that these organisations offer.
Volunteers are needed for the following roles:
- to assist in preparing, serving food (any hours between 10am-2pm) and cleaning up afterwards
- to help sort out our store cupboard on Wednesday’s lunch session
- to help with fundraising
- to help with admin
- to help distribute leaflets in town to the homeless
We are looking for volunteers to commit to just 2 hours a week at our Fairview Community food kitchen, or to take on supportive admin roles, which they can complete at flexible times from their homes.
We are a non-profit charity which provides food for the homeless in Reading and we are looking for more volunteers to support this. It can be as simple as collecting food from supermarkets to deliver to our kitchens, or to prepare and serve food. Please call to discuss further.
