Trustee / Committee volunteers needed for Tilehurst Junior Youth Club

We are seeking additional trustees/management committee members for Tilehurst Junior Youth Club which is a small registered charity.

The committee meets approximately 4 times a year on a mid-week evening in Tilehurst. Sub-committees may also be held but membership of these is optional. The Club itself is held weekly on a Friday evening and meets at Tilehurst Youth and Community Centre catering for 8 to 12 year old boys and girls. These positions however do not require any regular attendance at the youth club nor any direct work with young people.

The management committee oversees the running of the club including financial management, policies and procedures, staff/volunteer recruitment, disclosure and barring checks, fund raising, safe guarding and compliance with charity commission and other legislation.

We are seeking both a Chairperson for the committee as well as a small number of ordinary committee members. You would be joining a friendly and hardworking team with quite a variety of responsibilities. An interest in youth clubs would be desirable but not essential. Access to a computer with email provision is essential as much of our communication between meeting is via email.

Appointment to the committee would initially be by co-option and then annual re-election at an Annual General Meeting.

This is an ideal opportunity for those wishing to gain experience in running a small charity and youth club or for those with previous experience looking for a new volunteering opportunity.
