The Stroke Association offers support to over 60,000 stroke survivors, carers and families every year to ensure they get the help they need. We are seeking volunteers to support our peer support group meetings for stroke survivors.
Our group meets on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month and offers stroke survivors a friendly and supportive environment to gain confidence and independence. In the meetings we enjoy seated exercise, visiting speakers, various activities and a friendly chat.
We are looking for enthusiastic and proactive volunteers to bring their own interests and ideas and help us support life after stroke.
Tasks can include:
– Facilitate the group meetings
– Create a meaningful, supportive friendship with stroke survivors
– Organise activities and outings
This is a fantastic opportunity to volunteer with a well-respected charity, give back to the community and gain experience of working with people who have been affected by stroke.
