Help is keep our accounts in order
Trustee / Committee volunteer needed for Reading Samaritans in RG1
Our branch of the national Samaritans charity has 150 volunteers that support those in distress by telephone, email, text message and face to face at our centre in New Town.
We need a volunteer to manage our accounts so we can make considered decisions about how to spend and manage our budget. The role involves paying bills, recording all income and expenditure and presenting monthly accounts to the Leadership Team.
A typical month involves a weekly visit to the centre to pick up bills and then paying them using online banking. Monthly accounts are produced and shared with the Leadership Teams. The Leadership team meets monthly, currently on a Tuesday evening.
The volunteer will need to undertake a DBS check and make and keep themselves familiar with Charity Commission requirements.
