Our volunteers support and enable people with a physical disability to take up, or return to, a hobby, interest, sporting activity or learning opportunity which they cannot do without some help or support. This support is mainly about giving confidence, understanding and emotional support to bring colour to our members’ lives.
We are looking for everyday folk who might have a few free hours each week to share an interest with someone with a disability. That hobby you’ve had for years might be just the thing that one of our Members is looking for. You never know – volunteering might actually add some unexpected colour to your life too!
Very interesting lady with a good sense of fun is looking for a volunteer with a car to go shooting with at SportsAble in Maidenhead.
Alternatively, to go out to places of interest with.
If the volunteer does not have a car she would appreciate going out walking with another person, maybe with their dog, just to get out of the house.
She uses a stick to walk with so is mobile but unable to venture out on her own. She is registered disabled with a form of MS. Her energy levels are not always high. She uses a stick to walk with or a wheelchair for long distances. Balance issues means she cannot go out alone.
She would like a volunteer with a car if possible to go to Maidenhead but not essential as she has other interests which would not need a car.
Interests – Poetry, Singing, Painting, Church, Traveling, Going out to eat. Yoga, Tai-Chi, Likes to have a go at anything!
Timing – Weekly (if possible)
General Location – North Reading
