Encourage a young person to grow, develop and achieve their potential
Learning support / Mentoring volunteers needed for Adviza in RG30
As a mentor you will be using your experience of life and work to support and encourage a young person to grow, develop and achieve their potential.
You will be a listening ear, a role model and you will help support the students to explore their strengths and barriers. You will also support them to take small steps towards their personal goals.
You do not need to have prior experience of mentoring but you do need to have a desire and willingness to learn and develop your skills. Full training is provided.
Thirteen fantastic young people in year 10 have been selected to benefit from this programme.
The programme aims to help to
- raise their aspirations
- increase their motivation, confidence and resilience
- help them develop employability skills through the mentoring of a caring adult.
These are young people have lots of potential but who would greatly benefit from some extra support to realise this potential.
