Social media volunteer needed for The Weller Centre in RG4

The Weller Centre services are being developed in partnership with local organisations and community groups. We are working to create a healthy, vibrant and thriving community centre that provides a range of services for the community to engage with.

At the Weller Centre we provide opportunities for volunteers to increase their confidence, wellbeing, skills and knowledge.

We are looking for volunteers who are committed to their personal development and want to give back to their community. You can make a difference as our Social Media Volunteer by developing our Social Media approach and “making it happen” by creating a Website and recommending and implementing any further social media streams that would benefit the Centre and Community.

Main tasks:
. Develops and maintains the Centres website to demonstrate what the Centre offers the Community, Calendar of regular and one off events, linking to Centres” Hirers” own Websites for further info etc.
. Manages Centre social media channels including Facebook, Twitter
. Creates dynamic written and graphic content
. Proposes new ideas for Social Media
. Adhere to centre policies and procedures at all times especially with regard to safeguarding vulnerable people
. Attend induction and training sessions delivered by CHL or another approved provider

Essential criteria

. Solid IT and Social Media skills
. Self-starter, happy to work with little supervision
. Understanding of Data Protection Act
. Being approachable, mindful, non- judgemental proactive when issue arise (‘can do’ attitude)

. Have the ability to engage with all age groups
. Respecting and valuing differences
