Could you help us organise outings that for disadvantaged families in Reading

Coordination / Projects volunteer needed for Reading Family Aid

Do you like organising things? Would you enjoy the challenge of safely and efficiently get up to 300 people from several different organisations to and from a theme park or zoo?

We are looking for someone to take on the role of organising the outings that we do for disadvantaged families in the Reading area.

We typically organise 4 outings each year each involving 100 to 300 people from several different organisations.

The work involves:

  • establishing the Outings Plan for the year with the Committee
  • negotiating prices and booking the venues, coaches and entertainment
  • communicating with the various attending organisations with regard to numbers, pick up points and times etc.
  • being responsible for the Outing on the day

You must have excellent organisational, interpersonal and computer skills.

You must have time to do all of this – including time during the day to make phone calls, deal with urgent emails and to go on the outings.

Each outing will take a few days of your time to organise.

It would suit a part-time or recently retired Project Manager, Business Professional, Administrator or PA.
