Could you be a mental health support advocate?
Advocacy / Campaigning volunteers needed for SEAP Advocacy in RG30
We need volunteers to help our paid advocates supporting people accessing mental health services to be aware of their rights and to make sure their voice is heard by the mental health service providers.
- Visit local mental health support groups to talk to individuals about the service
- Shadow advocates until you are confident and capable to work directly-under supervision-with clients.
- Support the advocates by entering information on the database, distributing leaflets and posters etc.
An exciting role to develop your communication and advocacy skills and learn more about supporting people with mental health issues. You may have experienced mental health issues yourself or supported family or friends who have, or have an interest in it as a future career.
We need a commitment of two half days a week for six months.
