Become our new Outings Organiser and help us put a smile on the faces of disadvantaged children in Reading
Coordination / Projects volunteer needed for Reading Family Aid
Our mission is to put a smile on the faces of disadvantaged children in the Reading area
As part of this mission we organise up to 4 outings each year for disadvantaged Reading children and we are looking for someone to take on responsibility for organising some or all of these.
We typically go to theme parks, zoos, activity centres, animal parks, the seaside, a panto etc
The work involves:
– agreeing plans with the committee
– establishing costs
– booking venues and coaches
– communicating with the various organisations who will identify and bring the families
– purchasing entry tickets and booking coaches
– managing the outing on the day
You must have good organisational, interpersonal and computer skills involving email, internet usage, Word and Excel.
You must have time to do all of this – including some daytime to make phone calls, deal with urgent emails and to go on the outings. Each outing will take a few days of your time.
It would suit a part time or recently retired Project Manager, Business Professional, Administrator or PA.
There is minimal contact with the families as we always work through other organisations – charities, schools & churches.
