Become a Cancer Champion and help local community groups understand what cancer is and how it can be treated!
Advocacy / Campaigning volunteers needed for South Reading CCG
We are looking for community volunteers to become Cancer Champions in South Reading.
Cancer champions help local community groups in understanding what cancer is and how it is treated, by providing them with information on where to find local support and promoting the importance of screening for early diagnosis.
You will receive full training from Macmillan Cancer Support to develop your knowledge and skills, and will work with GPs and the local hospital, as well as people in the wider community.
Since this is a community based project no specific skills are needed and training will be given before commencing the work.
This is a two year project and will run until 2019.
