IT / Programming volunteers needed for Reading Family Aid

Are you a bit of a techy and very methodical?
Would you like to be involved in our amazing Toy Project?

Reading Family Aid is run entirely by a diverse group of volunteers. Each year we organise the amazing Toys and Teens Appeal which provides donated toys to hundreds of disadvantaged Reading families.

We are looking for one or two people who are a bit technically orientated to help run our simple computer system that we use for the Toy Project. You should be comfortable using spreadsheets, file handling and testing of revised versions. You must be happy to follow detailed procedures to load Toy Request Forms and use the system to produce all the required reports to manage the packing and delivery processes.

You do NOT have to be able to write software but an understanding of programming would be a help.

You should be meticulous and organised and happy to work alone and in a team. You must have your own Windows laptop (not MAC) and a printer.

Most of the work is carried out during the period from September to mid-December but there is activity during the rest of the year. It culminates in a week in early December when all the donated toys are checked and sorted and then packed up for each family.

We would welcome you to our merry band as long as you have the required skills and the energy, time and enthusiasm to help us continue putting smiles on children’s faces.
