Acre was set up in October 2012 to promote community cohesion and inclusion through community engagement, empowerment and social development in the Greater Reading area.

We believe that an increased sense of community will lead to more personal involvement and more cultural, educational and social activities, which will make Greater Reading a better community and a better place for us to live. We also stand to promote equality across 9 protected strands – age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion and belief, sex, sexual orientation.
