The Hugh Sinclair Nutrition Group is a vibrant internationally recognised group which explores the impact of food or individual dietary components on risk of number of chronic diseases including coronary heart disead (CHD) type 2 diabetes, cognitive decline and cancers. Physiological and molecular mechanisms underlying the observed effects are widely investigated. A particular strength is the diverse range of facilities and investigative techniques employed, including cell and molecular methods, model system studies and human intervention trials.
We are continually recruiting volunteers from the general public for our human studies. We always need to reach out into the Reading population to broaden our horizon.
