Connect Reading is a partnership between the business, public and voluntary sectors that work together to make a difference to the local community. It was set up in 2003 by businesses with the help of Reading Borough Council and RVA to support the local community through in-kind means such as volunteering in team challenges, providing careers talk at local schools, offering work experience to job seekers and donating redundant resources such as office equipment and laptops.
We are the only locally based charity to broker in-kind business support to the local voluntary and community sector. We run high profile projects such as The Giving Tree at Christmas, Connect Well donations to the elderly and the homeless, Reading RESCUE the environmental clean-up event and the Pride of Reading Awards. Our membership network meets up throughout the year to network and hear about local projects and discuss Corporate Social Responsibility developments.
