3Cs, Caversham Community Cafe, provides a much-needed meeting place for the community in Lower Caversham. It is situated in St John’s Church, Gosbrook Road, Caversham and is open to everyone.
At the moment it opens on Tuesdays from 9.30am – 2.30pm, providing freshly ground coffees, teas, hot chocolate, soft drinks and light snacks. It would like to extend the cafe’s opening hours to late afternoon for 2 to 3 days each week, but current opening times are restricted by the number of volunteers.
The cafe is staffed by teams of 3 or 4 volunteers who undertake all the tasks that are required to make this cafe a welcoming place offering good quality food and drinks at reasonable prices.
Lower Caversham Community Partnership Ltd is responsible for running the cafe on behalf of the Lower Caversham Community Partnership, which comprises representatives from St John’s Church, New Bridge Nursery School and Caversham Hall.
The partnership aims to distribute surplus funds in support of other community ventures.
