Syrian Resettlement Support Worker – closing date 21 March 2018

Part time. One year contract (extended subject to funding) 20 hours p/w (hours by agreement). This post maybe increased by agreement subject to funding. Salary:NJC SP 22 £20,661 (pro rata). Holidays 25 days per year (pro rata) plus bank holidays

RRSG is recruiting two Resettlement Support Workers to join our team working across Berkshire supporting families who have been resettled under the Government-funded Syrian Vulnerable Person Resettlement Scheme.

The aim of the programme is to support the families in settling and adjusting to life in the UK. An integral part of this position is to facilitate this integration process by supporting the families to gain essential living skills in the UK, empowering them to become independent and self-sufficient within a year.

Arabic as a first or second language is desirable for this post, but not essential. Applicants must be able handle their own case load with minimal supervision, have the capacity to problem solve and carry out independent research in order to be able to signpost and support families to find sustainable support mechanisms. Knowledge and experience advice around welfare benefits is very desirable, as is experience of supporting vulnerable clients and a working knowledge of MS Office.
