New Directions is Reading Borough Council’s Community Learning and Skills service. We’re funded by Government to provide learning opportunities to adults who most need our help and support.
Reading Borough Council has been successful in securing an additional £1.3m of Big Lottery Fund and European Social Fund (ESF) investment to deliver the ‘Stronger Together’ partnership project, which aims to tackle barriers to employment.
As the Project Manager you will monitor, review and report against project profiles and line manage the compliance officer. The Project Manager will also ensure all documentation including guidance and templates are available to partners via a shared portal. The Project Manager will submit financial claims to funders. In addition to provide operational leadership across the partnership.
The job will include relationship management with partners who are working to place some of those furthest from the workplace into jobs. The partnership consists of 14 not for profit and voluntary and community sector organisations.
They will provide opportunities such as work experience and placements as well as jobs, self-employment and volunteering. This will be underpinned by local businesses that are happy to provide supported employment opportunities.
You will be a qualified manager or have demonstrable experience with a proven track record, with excellent organisational and communication skills, ideally with experience of working within a community-based partnership project.
