Specialist Asian Refuge Worker (Reading) – closing date 29 May 2018

Part time: 15 hours per week (Wednesday and Thursday, 9am to 5pm)
Contract: fixed term until September 2019

BWA is looking to appoint a Refuge Worker to support the work within our Specialist Asian refuge in Reading. You will be an active member of the team, have good listening skills and provide non-judgemental and non-directive support. Knowledge of welfare benefits and the complex issues facing women fleeing domestic abuse would be an advantage. The ability to speak Urdu and Punjabi is an essential requirement.

For the above vacancy, the ideal candidate will have experience of working in a confidential and safeguarding environment, and have an understanding of domestic abuse and its impact on families.

An enhanced DBS check will be required for the successful candidate for this role.
