This is a temporary play worker post providing maternity cover for up to 1 year. The post is part time: 22 hours per week in term time, and holiday club up to 40 hours per week.
We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, flexible, creative and enjoys working with children from 4 to 12 years old, and has at least one year’s experience of working in an after school club or day care setting with children in the 4 to 12 age range, or experience of working with children on a voluntary basis.
You will need knowledge of child protection and safeguarding policies, and knowledge of health and safety issues relevant to working with children. You will be expected to promote inclusive attitudes and practice, in line with our policies, that support the diversity of children and parents who use the service.
A qualification in childcare or play work and a driving licence is desirable. It is a condition of the job that you must be willing to work towards gaining the relevant qualification if necessary. The post is subject to an Enhanced DBS check.
