Reading Mencap is seeking a Senor Care Support Worker for our Mencap Enables (ME) Day Activity Service.
No two days are the same at ME, which provides meaningful activities for adults with learning disabilities. The Senior Care Support Worker will have responsibility to lead on their designated day and plan and run activities to deliver a safe service. They will also be responsible for the staff team on their designated day to ensure the welfare of all clients is maintained at all times.
This role would suit someone who enjoys working within a small team, has a positive approach to work and is calm and non-judgemental. Ideal candidates will also have experience of working with people with learning disabilities or in a caring role with other vulnerable people.
An NVQ 2 in Care or its equivalent is required on a willingness to work towards this qualification. Experience of supervising and providing support to staff is desirable.
- Based at 21 Alexandra Road and/or St Paul’s Church Hall, 5 – 23 Whitley Wood Lane.
- Hours: 7.5 hours per day worked between 8.30am – 4pm or 9.30am – 5pm. Monday – Friday.
