Manager – closing date 30 September 2019

We are looking to recruit an experienced benefits advisor/case worker to act as Manager of Reading Community Welfare Rights Unit. The post could be of interest to someone with up-to-date knowledge of the benefits system and legislation, experience of management in a benefits advice agency, or who is an experienced case worker and interested to take on more responsibility by managing the staff providing such a service. A central feature of this appointment is taking responsibility for recruiting and training a team of volunteers to support the work of the existing staff.

The ideal candidate will have experience in managing staff and recruiting and training volunteers. Training and support would be provided as appropriate for someone taking on new responsibilities.

  • The post is permanent.
  • There will be a 6-month probationary period.

    • 28 days annual leave plus statutory public holidays pro-rata.
    • Statutory workplace pension through ‘NEST’.
  • Hours of work: Full-time post, 35 hours a week – individuals prepared to work at least 4 days and 30 hours a week would be considered.
