Reading International Solidarity Centre (RISC) is the UK’s largest Development Education Centre and a registered charity (World Education Berkshire). We work locally with schools and community organisations, raising the profile and promoting action for sustainable development, international issues, equality and social justice. RISC has long-standing and far-reaching connections to the voluntary and education sectors in the UK and the Global South and is part of national urban agriculture networks including the Federation of Community Farms and Sustain.
The purpose of the job is to provide HR support to the organisation.
Duties and responsibilities include monitoring policies and liaising with trustees when policies need updating; organising and maintaining personnel records including staff training, holidays, terms and conditions; supporting the safeguarding lead in carrying out DBS document checks; recruiting and inducting office and garden volunteers.
Hours of work: 7 hours per week, over 1 day or 2 half days.
