Fundraising Officer – closing date 9 July 2018

The Mustard Tree is a Christian Reading-based charity who strive to identify, support and empower the misunderstood and overlooked in our local community. We work in partnership with other local organisations and for this role we are partnering with Hope into Action and Readifood (part of Faith Christian Group). We are looking for an experienced Fundraiser who has a proven track record in successful income generation. The successful candidate will also have outstanding written communication skills, and experience of developing applications to a range of trusts and foundations.

This role is for 30 hours per week and time will be split between fundraising for The Mustard Tree and its projects (15 hours), Readifood, part of Faith Christian Group (7.5 hours), Hope into action (7.5 hours). The Mustard Tree provides a range of support to other small charities and projects, including fundraising services. Additional hours may therefore become available for the Fundraising Officer on a temporary basis.

The overall objectives of the Fundraising Officer role are to:
  • Research, write and submit grant applications.
  • Work with the Mustard Tree, and the partners to develop funding sources.
  • Organise fundraising events.
  • Build supporter networks and develop engagement strategies.
