Development Manager – closing date 10 June 2018

Ridgeline Trust has operated successfully in Reading for over 14 years to offer the benefits of horticultural therapy to people with experience of mental and physical disabilities and other particular needs in a beautiful, peaceful garden.

The Trustees have agreed a three year development plan to expand our Horticultural Therapy services to include opening an additional day each week. We now wish to recruit a part-time Development Manager to work with the Trustees and our Horticultural Therapists to take these plans forward. This is a fixed-term contract for 12 months with the possibility of renewal, working 15 hours per week.

This is a varied and interesting position and duties will include:

  • Developing and expanding our horticultural therapy services
  • Recruiting and managing volunteers
  • Promoting and publicising the charity with a view to attracting more clients
  • Day-to-day management of the garden, including being the first point of contact for all enquiries

Good communication and administrative skills are essential for this role, as is experience of working with volunteers and the ability to organise your own workload. No special horticultural skills are required although the successful candidate will have an interest in gardening.

An enhanced DBS check will be required for this role.
