The Development Assistant holds a significant role in the Mills Archive Trust, which depends on fundraising and relationship building for growth and sustainability. You will be responsible for carrying out a variety of tasks related to institutional and individual giving, in line with our vision to become the centre of excellence for learning, understanding, recording and researching the history of mills and milling and the uses of traditional power sources.
Working with the Director of Programmes and Development, you will build and sustain meaningful relationships with current and prospective donors. This includes developing membership of the Friends, writing grant applications and engaging in outreach such as through organising events, workshops and using e-newsletters and social media.
This is a varied and rewarding role offering a range of experience, opportunities for creativity and to help shape this successful and innovative charity.
You will have a good degree and will have gained relevant paid/voluntary fundraising experience. With excellent communication skills, you will be experienced in using a variety of social media. Previous marketing or communications experience, and experience in archives or heritage, would be a bonus.
