Are you a charity trustee and want to better understand your role in protecting anyone who comes into contact with your charity? Trustees hold overall responsibility for good safeguarding practice within the organisation and RVA is hosting safeguarding training specifically designed for trustees and committee members.
This course will cover:
- key legislation and guidance underpinning your role in safeguarding as a trustee
- your statutory responsibilities for keeping people safe
- key elements of creating a safe and trusted culture
- how to support your team/staff/volunteers in operating good safegguarding practice, and challenge this where necessary.
You will also have the opportunity to meet fellow trustees from the local voluntary sector and share your best practice.
The course includes tea & coffee and printed materials. There will be a comfort break mid way and you are welcome to bring a snack.
Please note that this training is primarily for trustees of charities and community groups in Reading. If your organisation does not provide services in Reading, please contact RVA and we can add you to the waiting list should a space be available nearer the time.
