Reading Town Meal is a community-powered event celebrating the wonderful fruit and veg grown in Reading. All the food is donated by local growers and allotment holders around Reading, cooked by Reading College students, and served free to the first 1,000 lucky diners. The meal is vegetarian, and where possible there are vegan options.
The Reading Town Meal embraces a broad approach to sustainability, incorporating economic, health and well-being, community capacity and resilience and carbon reduction aspects.
The meal is accompanied by live music all day, family fun activities, a variety of workshops, interactive information stalls, and host of local producer stalls. The event is great for all the family and is looking to be another wonderful afternoon this September.
If you would like to help and support the community on the day you can sign up to volunteer at the event.
