Reading Health Walks- find out more and get involved!

Wednesday 18 January 2017

Would the people you support benefit from more physical activity, fresh air and social opportunities?

Come to a free workshop to find out more

We would be delighted if you could join us at a workshop to discuss an exciting opportunity for the people that you support to benefit from Reading’s Walks Programme.

The workshop will include information on:

  • How the Walks Programme currently operates in the community
  • Examples of where the Walks Programme has already provided support to local groups and organisations
  • How the Walks Programme and your organisation can work together to create the support you need
  • Free training opportunities and benefits for your staff
  • Next steps.

We will be joined by the Reading Walks Programme Coordinator, as well as walk leaders from some of our current walking groups.

There will be presentations about the volunteer role, how they work with Reading Borough Council and recent success stories to will give examples about the benefits they see on a regular basis for our walkers from many different backgrounds.

There will also be free refreshments available and a chance to meet and discuss ideas with other organisations in the community.

Book your place by emailing philip.burbidge@reading.gov.uk by 16 January.
