Introduction to autism – course for professionals

This Introduction to Autism course provides an understanding of what autism is and what it feels like to have autism, as well as offering strategies and ideas for supporting people on the autism spectrum, and their families and carers.

The workshop at Braywick Heath Nurseries, in Maidenhead, is open to professionals working in Berkshire and nearby areas.

The workshop, from 10am to 1pm on Tuesday, March 20, covers:
  • What is Autism? Key areas of difficulties, sensory sensitivities and real-life accounts.
  • Behaviour and Communication: understanding behaviourial difficulties; using visual supports and communication strategies.
  • The Berkshire Autism Alert Card.
Further information

The course costs £30 per person. All those attending will receive a training pack and certificate.

Participants in previous Introduction to Autism courses have included education and health professionals, play-workers and housing, human resources and training staff.
