Free Open Day

Friday 27 January 2017

Get Berkshire Active is coordinating a series of open days which will be hosted at Legacy Leisure sites in West Berkshire in January. These events are free and open to older adults and disabled adults, and carers are welcome too.

They’re a great opportunity to get out of the house, socialise, try something new and get active. It doesn’t matter if you’ve never been to the centre before or if you haven’t been active for a long time – we can cater for everyone!

These events feature a range of taster activities including; Walking Football, Walking Netball, New Age Bowls, Steady Steps (fall prevention), Tai Chi, Badminton and Nordic Walking. Local organisations including Age UK, Berkshire Vision, Mencap, Newbury Resource Centre, Alzheimers Society, Carers Hub, Reading Voluntary Action and Solutions 4 Health will also be represented at each event, providing information on the services they provide to this target group.

Each of the tasters provide an introduction to the activity, all of which can be accessed on an ongoing basis after the event. To reward efforts a free lunch will also be provided.
