What is the course about and who is it for?

RVA, in conjunction with Redkite Training Solutions, are hosting a one day Emergency First Aid at Work training session for Voluntary and Community groups in Reading.

This course is suitable for anyone in your organisation who might be responsible for administering first aid at work. For example if you are delivering a service or an activity, or you are responsible for the safety of services users, colleagues or volunteers in the office.

Duration and learning objectives:

  • Assess and prioritise a first aid incident
  • Deal with an unconscious casualty
  • Carry out resuscitation on an unconscious casualty
  • Control bleeding and manage shock
  • Be able to recognise and deal with a wide range of common injuries

The price includes:

Professional instruction, all course materials and upon successful completion of the course and final assessment on the day, the delegate will receive a Certificate valid for 3 years.


People attending the Emergency First Aid at Work courses are trained and assessed by one expert trainer/assessor whilst the course is progressing.

Assessment will be through observation along with some practical exercises.

How long is the certificate valid for?

3 years.

Cost and booking:

The course is provided by an external First Aid expert. We have managed to secure a reduced voluntary sector rate of £35 per participant.

The course fee includes tea and coffee but not lunch.
