On behalf of the Dialogue Society and Fellowship Educational Society, we would like to kindly invite you to our annual Iftar Dinner Event in the Holy Month of Ramadan, to share our food and feelings, if your diary permits.
Ramadan is a month when the relationships within and outside the community are strengthened by fasting and breaking the fast. To reinforce the friendship, and dialogue between diverse communities, we gather in the intercultural dinners during Ramadan, with people from all walks of life, of varied communities and faith groups, to emphasise values such as mutual understanding, deep respect, love, and peace.
The dinner will take place on Wednesday, 30 May and will start at 8.00 pm.
The evening will begin with a short welcome speech followed by a presentation by the partner organisations. After speeches by our guest speakers, when it is time to break the fast, guests will listen to the Adhan (call to prayer) and Turkish homemade meals will be served as Iftar dinner.
The theme of the event will be the loneliness and social isolation problems in society and how faith groups can help to tackle these problems.
The event is free but donations are always welcome. We would like to share the donations with two organisations: Time to Help UK, a charity which has a project to support Refugees in Greece and Reading City of Sanctuary.
Please RSVP by 25 May 2018 to email@example.com.
