Costing Your Services – workshop for voluntary and community groups

Introduction

Increasingly charities need to consider the cost per unit of their services and the most effective way of pricing their services. This workshop will give you an overview of how to do this effectively in the current funding climate, and will be helpful for new and existing charities and community groups.

Learning outcomes

Participants will leave with improved ability to:

  • Costing your service
  • Writing budgets from a unit basis
  • Internal Processes / processing payments
  • Understand the options for “pricing” including cost plus, market rate, subsidy, free and who the customer is.

Target audience

This session will be most beneficial for those involved in budgeting and planning ahead, for example chairs of trustees, treasurers, managers or chief executives. The session is designed for a maximum of 12 participants.

Cost

The course is at our reduced rate of £40 for Reading based charities and community groups

Trainer

The course will be delivered by Rachel Eden of Holybrook Associates. Rachel is a qualified accountant and member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants. She has delivered a wide range of technical training for accountants and for the voluntary sector.

Related Workshop – Treasurer Training (10.15am – 1.15pm, 8 March 2018)

This workshop will follow on from the Treasurer Training in the morning on the same day.
