Top local designer-makers will be heading for St Michael’s Tilehurst on 28 September, when the church marks its Saint’s Day with an “Angelic Craft Fair”.
Rector Liz Ratcliffe, herself a former award-winning silversmith, commented:
We are fortunate to have a lovely Grade II listed building with many artistic and historic features, including a William Morris/Burne Jones window. We felt that showing modern day design skills in this beautiful setting would be a great way of blending the old and the new. All sorts of highly skilled crafts people, ranging from glass makers to wood turners, will be coming along on the day to show and sell their goods.
There is no entry charge although we would, of course, be grateful for a donation, and refreshments are available all day. Everyone is welcome to this very special occasion which, like all our events and services, is fully accessible for wheelchair users.
