A Conversation with Steve Silberman

Friday 29 March 2024

Steve Silberman is an award-winning journalist and best-selling author of NeuroTribes: The Legacy of Autism and the Future of Neurodiversity – a book we regularly recommend to people who are seeking context around autism. Steve will be in conversation with a recent reader of his book, Jess Rees, an ex-teacher who was diagnosed as autistic in 2023 after years of wondering why she related so well to the neurodivergent children she was teaching! Following this life-changing and affirming discovery, she is now a staff member at AutAngel and is looking forward to speaking with Steve about how his book has helped her and discussing how the understanding of autism and neurodiversity has moved on since Steve researched his book.
There will be Q&As following the interview.

“NeuroTribes by Steve Silberman explores in fascinating, near-encyclopaedic depth how autism has evolved. It’s a gripping narrative written with journalistic verve.” The Guardian
