6 February 2018 is international day for zero tolerance to Female Genital Mutilation (FGM). Utulivu and ACRE (Alliance for Cohesion and Racial Equality) are holding a conference on 9 February, with the theme of ‘working together for greater impact to end FGM in a generation’.
As with last year’s well-attended conference, the event will bring together agencies and professionals to talk about how they address FGM cases, support survivors and work with communities to help discourage the practice. There will be input from women and men in the community, the police, and health and social care professionals. The conference is open to teachers, health and social care practitioners, businesses and anybody else interested in helping to end the practice.
