The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government is offering grants for charities and community groups to celebrate, commemorate and/or educate about the history of the Empire Windrush and the contribution of the Windrush Generation to British economic, social and cultural life.
They are looking for innovative approaches, founded on active community engagement. They will fund projects and events that support the high-level objectives of the Windrush Day Grant, which are to celebrate, commemorate, and educate. Projects and events must be community-led and sustainable, and local, national and intergenerational in scope.
Who can apply?
Organisations are eligible if they are registered charities OR meet all the following criteria:
- Are established for charitable, benevolent or philanthropic purposes;
- Have a governing body with at least three members;
- Have a governing document which they are able to produce;
- Can provide accounts for the last two financial years;
AND they are community-based and/or community-led OR they are they are a local authority.

Between £2,500 and £25,000
