What are we doing to safeguard vulnerable adults in Reading?

Safeguarding adults is everybody’s businessdoing nothing isn’t an option. This includes staff and volunteers working in health agencies, police, social care and charities as well as people who might be concerned about neighbours, friends and family members.

Reading Voluntary Action is hosting an event on Monday September 11th for anyone who wants to find out more about:

  • Who are adults at risk
  • What is meant by abuse and neglect
  • How you can raise concerns
  • How different agencies work together to protect vulnerable adults

Speakers will include Teresa Bell(Independent Chair of West of Berkshire Safeguarding Adults Board), Kathy Kelly (Head of  Safeguarding Adults for Berkshire West CCGs), Jo Wilkins (Safeguarding Adults Team Manager for Reading Borough Council) and Supt Stan Gilmour (local Police Area Commander)
